The United States Postal Service calls December 11th the cut-off for International Priority shipments to be guaranteed a Christmas delivery.

So if you happen to reside outside of the U.S., and want to buy from a U.S. retailer, do it now. Express mail outside of the U.S. is December 20th.

Just your helpful FYI!

I, being quite a fanatic of Alice In Wonderland and associated material, have resolved to make the most of the movie which comes out on March 5th by, of course, dressing up and making a fool of myself. If, after viewing my maniacal wardrobe planning, you have any advice as to materials, vendors or anything similar, please let me know.

and excuse the eye-burning graphics )

With 5+ inches of snow outside my steps and more still falling, I think that it's a perfect time to post this little project:

Hello all steampunkers of the web!

hope everyone is doing smashingly well,

so i happen to be in need of some fine steampunk related help, and who better to ask then all of you! So ive gone about designing an outfit that i eventually would like to make, It was Inspired by the 1998 movie Elizabeth the armor Mary Of Guise was wearing, & by an item on Gaiaonline called La Draonne. SO already its pretty medieval-ish. My reason for the help was if any of you might be able to give me some ideas as to how to make it more....steampunk-ish appropriate.

any ideas would be wonderful! :3 thank you!

heres a quick and terrible doddle of the general idea @0@!!!

Hello steamy people,

Just wanted to let you know I will be having a little sale at my Etsy shop this weekend. I will be offering free shipping on all purchases from 9am Friday through 9pm Sunday, and a few items will be offered at discounted prices. I have also just listed almost 20 new items. I ventured into making some brooches this time around. I'm definitely proud of the results and was tempted to keep all of them for myself :) Let me know what you think.

Here's the link: http://www.etsy.com/shop/DevilsAndDaffodils

I was asked last week to do a custom piece by a friend and was definitely pleased with the results. I'll be posting a few pics of it soon.

Here are a few pics of the new items I've recently added to my shop:

Okay so ugly secret time, I used to work for "The Mouse". When I worked there, afew movies stuck out in my head that were "going to be huge". One of which, I have only shamefully watched last night. I say shamefully because it's a shame I only watched it last night, having been one of the most underrated Disney films I have ever witnessed.

Yes kids, I'm talking about Treasure Planet.

And somewhat pertaining to my last post, did anyone go see Amelia? I didn't and didn't hear anything about it.

Ok, so I live in Las Vegas and recently came across a new slot Machine called "Time Machine". Being the big geek that I am, I tried it out and it was too much fun (I also won about $90 too)! The chair you sit in has total surround sound and as you hit the bonus rounds, you are sent to the Past (Dinosaurs), Present (Victorian)or Future (Robots). The chair shakes and you are bombarded with the sights and sounds of moving through time. Most all of the casinos here now have them and I do recommend you try it out next time you are here:)

I just wanted to post this picture of my mother's outfit she wore at a show. She is pretty new to the steamfashion world and I thought she did a really good job with putting together her steamy outfit. So kudos from her daughter^-^

I am looking for etiquette rules for the Victorian era and have fallen disheartening short short. Does anyone have a good site on the interweb for such things? I have only found on what side people should pass you on the street, that you should wear your gloves when calling on someone, and who you should leave your calling card with when the person you are calling upon is not at home.
So I am asking for your favorite Victorian Etiquette rules or sites for such.

Well, folks, it's probably about time I unveiled the latest piece in the Arcanepunk Collection. Now, this is no crude weapon or protective knicknack. This was something far more refined. A consummate tool- designed to create or destroy with equal violence...

Hope you don't mind I'm just popping in to share. I realize Ms. Earhart's accomplishments were technically just after the final years of the reign of Queen Victoria, I hope you enjoy the tribute nonetheless.

Last Saturday was the Steampunk Exhibition Ball here in Seattle. Pictured is the outfit that I pulled together for the event. I don’t sew, but I try to make things work together and look different than they started out. The hat came from Wild West Mercantile. The goggles are from Restoration hardware, but I added purple lenses from Morlock. The dress is from Recollections. I changed the neckline a bit. The corset came from Timeless Trends. I found the mother of pearl opera glasses at Marshall’s recently. I added a chain of silver keys to give a little shine to the outfit.

i found a (modern) site while web browsing that has some excellent discussions on things like hats, umbrellas, pocket handkerchiefs, etc. as well as discussing the anatomy of dress shirts, and suits.
all by itself this would be good enough to link to it, BUT it also has a lot of Victorian (and neo victorian) men's illustrations
http://artofmanliness.com/category/dress-grooming/page/2/

so. what links do any of you suggest for Men's style?
EDITED TO ADD: under the dress for under 200 link, which generally scks, they have a FANTASTIC link for detailed video on re soling shoes......
